We stayed here and had a great time. Our room was modest but completely pleasant and clean. It felt comfortable and European, which added to the fun. The location is terrific, walking distance to many great attractions in downtown Toronto, and ample access to public transit. Really awesome location. The people (some residents, some staff) at the Clarence were cheerful and delightful to talk with and gave a joyful vibe to the whole experience. We will definitely choose this place again on our next trip. (Our stay included breakfast, which also gets a double thumbs up from us.)

This was my first experience staying in a hostel, I stayed for 2 nights. I booked a premium private room. It was spacious and clean enough, exceeded my expectations. Service was friendly, I was able to leave my luggage until check-in time. The environment was quiet, of course you will hear people coming and going but everyone seemed to be respectful. During my stay an ac untit was installed in my room and nothing was moved/removed, trust worthy staff. I will stay again. Thank you to the staff for a great stay.

This was my first time staying in a hostel, so I did not really know what to expect. The location is honestly great because everything is close and you can walk almost everywhere, which helps save money on transport. However, the hygiene and sleeping experience were really disappointing. After my first night, I started getting a lot of bites, and it got worse every day to the point where I could barely sleep. At first, reception told me it was probably mosquitoes, but after speaking with pharmacists afterward, they confirmed that the bites were most likely from bed bugs. What is strange is that I was staying in the men’s room while one of my friends stayed in the women’s room and had no issues at all, so maybe the problem depends on the room. Since the hostel is right in front of a park, there are definitely a lot of mosquitoes around too. The team should maybe consider adding mosquito nets on the windows. The AC is also very loud at night, and the beds feel very cheap since you can hear and feel every movement from the person above or below you. Bring earplugs if you stay here. The bathrooms did not feel very clean either. I even saw mosquito larvae near the shower area, and there were barely enough supplies for everyone. Bring flip-flops for hygiene reasons. Towels are provided though. Breakfast is very basic but okay. Just note that you have to clean after yourself carefully, and there are cameras in the kitchen area. There are also lockers in the rooms, but you need to bring your own padlock. There is a Dollarama nearby if needed. As for the staff, it was very mixed. Some people were nice and helpful, but others honestly acted like they did not care about guests at all. A few staff members came across as cold, judgmental, and not very welcoming, especially toward first-time hostel travelers. Overall, the location and price are decent, but the hygiene and comfort issues really ruined the experience for me.

Clarence Park is a hostel-style accommodation that also offers private rooms with private bathrooms, located in a very convenient area just a short walk from the CN Tower and well connected to the rest of the city. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We were welcomed into a pleasant reception/lounge area where guests can relax and enjoy complimentary lemon-infused water. They immediately informed us that we could leave our luggage in a locked storage room even after check-out, which was very convenient for later flights or plans around the city. We were also pleasantly surprised to find out that breakfast was offered free of charge from 8 to 10 a.m., even though it had not been mentioned on our Booking reservation. Another detail we appreciated was receiving two separate room keys, something that is not always guaranteed in similar accommodations. The room was clean and tidy, with a very comfortable temperature throughout our stay, and the bathroom also included a hairdryer. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend it. The only small downside, in my opinion, is that the price feels slightly high for a hostel, at around €153 per night for two people.

Highly recommend this place! Stayed one night in the dorm and it was such a pleasant experience. All the common area is so clean and tidy, staffs are extremely helpful, so as the location. 4-side of bunk bed is fully covered with curtains so I was able to sleep very well throughout the night. Though I recommend bringing earplugs if you're a lightsleeper because of the wooden floor.
