Thought corned beef Reuben was solid. Flat Iron delight with pastrami was good, but kinda fell apart. Latkes were tasty. Matzoh ball soup much better at 2nd Ave Deli. But I like the old school atmosphere. I’d try it again. Good comfort food. A bit $$ considering what you get. Waiter was incredibly nice.
One of my favorite breakfast spots in all of NYC. The best time to get is right after they open on a weekday morning. Grab a seat at the counter and eat up. Absorb the vibes of one of the OGs of the NYC diner scene. The Shonda sandwich (pastrami, egg, green tomatoes, mustard) and corned beef hash are excellent. I only order the rye bread, which is (literally) the best I've ever had and delivered fresh from a top-notch bakery in NJ every morning. Service is always prompt and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.
Great spot for a late lunch, we arrived shortly before closing without realising but staff were able to accommodate us. Delicious food, great atmosphere and enjoyed the 60s music selection. Thought meal was good value.
One of my most memorable meals in recent memory. I like their pastrami better than K's: less salty, stronger spices, much more reasonable meat-to-bread ratio. Yums.
As someone who doesn’t normally like sandwiches or cold cuts - the pastrami and corned beef Rueben was out of this world. 10/10 latkes as well. Must try if you’re in the area
